***Snorkeling is currently closed at Fairmont Southampton***

If the idea of seeing blue parrotfish, four-eyed butterflyfish, sergeant majors, wrasses and many other species of fish gliding around the beautiful corals and sea fans appeals to you then a snorkel trip may be just what you are looking for. Our cooler water temperatures offer us better protection against the coral bleaching happening in other parts of the world. With some of the healthiest corals in the world, you will see a flourishing ecosystem below the waves.

Have a look at Bermuda’s Fish to find out more about the different species of fish typically seen in Bermuda’s turquoise waters. On the more rare occasions, those who are fortunate may also spot moray eels, octopi, puddingwives and urchins thriving within the reefs.

Rental Snorkel Equipment

Price | Mask, Snorkel & Fins $25 4hrs / $40 All Day

We have a beautiful reef, with healthy fish activity located directly off the beach. Our snorkel path is clearly marked with brightly colored buoys at the surface with recommended points of interest within the bay, including 2 sunken cannons!

Dive Bermuda has top notch masks, fins, and snorkels available to rent. We are able to size the equipment to each individual here in our shop to ensure maximum comfort. From there you can set out to enjoy the shallow waters of East Whale Bay, located directly in front of the Dive Center.

This is the perfect option for families or individuals who want to enjoy and explore the clear waters without having to venture too far out. With close access to the beach and all its amenities, this is a great option for beginners or those that might be short on time. We also have the option to rent out floats, like noodles, which can increase the ease of your snorkel.

Our custom designed dive boat, Narcosis, returning from a trip on our local reef.

Our custom designed dive boat, Narcosis, returning from a trip on our local reef.

Price  |  $80 as per adult and $70 as per child and includes all equipment

For those interested in exploring further out, why not join us on our dive boat, Narcosis, for a trip to one of the many shallow reefs? During the summer season the trip departs every afternoon from either our Grotto Bay or Somerset locations, we do not offer snorkeling from our Fairmont location at present. Check-in is at 1:45pm daily, weather permitting, returning at 4:00pm. The boat will visit a shallow reef site suitable for our beginner divers and makes for an ideal snorkeling destination.

You must be able to swim and be comfortable in open water. We are happy to provide you with noodles to happily float around at the surface.

**PLEASE NOTE** - Snorkeling in the afternoon is extremely weather dependent. We make the decision each day at 11:00am as to whether or not that day's wind and water conditions would allow for a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our snorkelers.

If you are interested in snorkeling in the afternoon, you simply call us at +1 (441) 293 7319 after 11:00am on the day you wish to go snorkeling of to confirm your space on the boat. As space on the boat can be limited at times, you must call or walk-in to confirm.

Unfortunately, we do not offer pre-bookings for snorkeling excursions. We look forward to seeing you here at the Dive Center!

Go for an aerial tour along the Snorkel Path in East Whale Bay

This is the recommended snorkel path that is available directly off the beach in front of our dive center.

“We were looking for a more intimate snorkeling experience than the large boats that leave near the cruise ships and Dive Bermuda at Somerset delivered. They are primarily a dive operation and the snorkelers join the divers on their small dive boat and head to the same sites. Our extremely friendly guide, Dakota, took the time to teach us about the living reefs in Bermuda on the way out to the dive site. In the water, she gave the four of us a private tour of the site pointing out the various marine life along the way. If you are looking for unique snorkeling or diving experience in Bermuda, this is it!”
